Friday, February 26: Join us for a warm and cozy casual social evening to celebrate Black/African American achievements  – at the New Century Theatre, Minneapolis  

Part 1: Spoken Word performances – exhilarating readings/poems celebrating black history, achievements and promise. Enjoy the performances with a light fare of tasty African-American/Black heritage food and cocktails!

Featured artists: Abdi Phenomenal, Adversity, Grandpa Rappin and Maria Johnson

Time: 5:30 – 7.00pm

Part 2: ‘Black for Reel’ – a movie night of short black film(s) highlighting the black experience in America and the hopes and aspirations of the community. There will be a brief intermission for a general discussion on the audiences perception/responses to themes in the film and a call to action. And of course some caramel drizzled popcorn!
